The social theory of the German-Jewish philosopher Moritz Lazarus anticipates a pluralistic conception of society that is still up to date, while it corresponds to pivotal elements of the German-Jewish Life-World in the 19th century. Thus, Lazarus was a a paradigmatic representative of this life-world as well as a precursor of sociological theory, stressing the close relationship of life-world and theory construction.
